B Family {Maternity}

I'm so fortunate to have so many sweet and kind hearted clients, the B family did not disappoint when it came time for their session! I couldn't tell you how hot it was the day of the session but let me tell you, they were both all star troopers! Every location was outside and there wasn't any breeze to stir the humid air. The pictures were well worth it though!

Rone {Maternity}

"You're going to be an AUNT!!" Those were the words my high school best friend told me late last year!! I had to wait several months to see her and congratulate her in person, and here's what I was greeted with! My glowing, beautiful, and blue eyed friend! I can't wait to see if Mr. C has her eyes! In high school, we drove around with our music blaring looking for boys, friends, or cool places to hang out. Things haven't changed much over the years. Except this time we were looking for cool places for pictures! ;) It was a great afternoon talking about old friends and events, making new memories, and discussing the future. It's always an amazing feeling being around people who really know you, and love you anyway! Thanks for loving me best friend and for being such a gorgeous maternity model! I'm so excited for you and to be apart of this wonderful journey you're about to begin...just a few days to go!!

W Family {Maternity}

Last year, my friend and former co-worker was a blushing bride to be. We spent several lunch hours talking about all the wedding details, because really that's more interesting than whatever they were talking about in our meetings anyway ;) The big day came and went and she made a gorgeous bride! Several boring meetings later, she passes me a legit note high school style and tells me the new subject of the lunch hour...she was expecting a baby!! Before we knew it, we were discussing ideas for a maternity session planed for early April. In just over a year she went from blushing bride to a glowing mother to be. Easter is my favorite holiday so what better way to celebrate than with a cute maternity session, a wonderful example of new life! Oh, Mr. W played a role as well (other than the obvious haha)...he set up our gorgeous location! The parents of his best friend have a beautiful house with equally beautiful landscaping by OU campus. I just love that part of Norman! I tend to shoot more close ups than anything else so you can't really tell how pretty the whole place was, so you'll just have to take my word for it :)

If you'd like to see more of their session, check out the album on Facebook. Enjoy!

When strangers become friends

Some people joke about having an "angel" on one shoulder and a "devil" on the other but not me. I have what I lovingly refer to as a "confident Brandi" and an "un-confident Brandi" on mine! The night before this session, the "un-confident Brandi" was praying for rain!! It wasn't a long shot, the weatherman had predicted it earlier that day. When I woke up in the morning and looked at the blue cloudless sky, the "confident Brandi" did a cartwheel :) and the "un-confident Brandi? Well, she smiled a little too ;)

The reason for all the nerves? Well because these lovely clients were my FIRST "stranger" clients!! My friend had read that one of her friends was looking for a photographer for her maternity pictures and she referred her to me. So far, all my clients have been friends and/or family members. People I feel comfortable "bossing" around, staring blankly at while I get an idea, or just being goofy around. It's okay because they HAVE to like me!! But these two strangers?? I'm new at this so what if they didn't like my work? My ideas? My clothes? (first impressions people!) or my funny country accent? haha Oh man, the pressure was on!

Well, after lots of e-mails and this session I can now tell you that I had NOTHING to worry about! They are both absolutely adorable! Ummm can I call him adorable when he's like 6 ft tall?? haha Anyway, they were up for anything and so relaxed that I couldn't have asked for better for my first "stranger" clients!! I'm so excited to share a few of my absolute faves with you! If you want to see more click here for the album on facebook!

*This idea came to me about 2 or 3 days for the shoot and I'm sooooo pleased with it!!*

*She bought these blocks here and they are so adorable! They match the season too!*

*Random door to use as a prop in the middle of the street?? Yes please!!*

Thank you two so much for asking me to capture these special memories! I really enjoyed it! It was nice to get out of my comfort zone :) After all our e-mails I feel like we are friends now! You two are so cute and very talented! (Check out Anna's fun blog here to see her unique New Year's challenge and her etsy page here to see her collection of upcycled serving pieces!)
